Recreating Fall Drinks

Recreating Fall Drinks

Hello bookworms and foodies!

I’m so excited to share this post with you today! My bookstagram friend @princessreadsalot asked for my help to buy and photograph some fall drinks for her and @sushirainbow’s blog post (link here) about matching books to fall drinks. Anyhoo, Princessreadsalot originally asked if I could buy these Starbucks drinks: Pumpkin Spice Latte, S’mores Latte, Butterscotch Caramel Frappuchino, and the Witch’s Brew Frappuchino. However, Starbucks did not have these available because their fall season had not yet begun, so I decided to try and recreate them! Since Princessreadsalot and Sushirainbow were only using the pictures of these drinks in their post and did not need to drink them, I decided to see if I could recreate them, not for drinking, just for visual creativity. However, I ended up making everything except for the S’mores Latte drinkable. This blog post will be about how I recreated each drink and it will also feature the delicious ‘Oh Snap!’ Coffee Drink that Princessreadsalot made.

Drink #1: S’mores Latte

This drink was not edible because I roasted the marshmallows with a lighter so the liquid in the mug is just water. If you want to make this edible, you can fill your mug with something like coffee, hot chocolate, or warm milk, and roast the marshmallows in a safe way. Then drizzle some chocolate sauce on top of the marshmallows and top that off with a sprinkle of graham cracker crumbs. Et voilà! S’mores Latte.

Drink #2: Butterscotch Caramel Frappuchino

The star of this recipe is this really yummy butterscotch syrup called “Lyle’s Squeezy Syrup” that I found at my grocery store. I mixed it into the frappuchino drink, used it to coat the inside of my glass, and drizzled it on top of the whipped cream. For the frappuchino part I just blended together some ice, milk. french vanilla ice cream, and some of the butterscotch syrup. Use your judgement for the amounts. I also made my own whipped cream by whipping some heavy whipping cream from the grocery store. I topped this drink off with a caramel candy so there is a little bit of caramel since it’s supposed to be a Butterscotch Caramel Frappuchino!

Drink #3: Pumpkin Spice Latte

Making this drink was super easy but there is literally no pumpkin in it at all. I stole some of my boyfriend’s Tim Horton’s dark roast coffee for the liquid and then topped it off with some homemade whipped cream and sprinkled some cinnamon on top. I had some pumpkin spice seasoning but I didn’t want to open the package for this, so cinnamon it was! 😆

Drink #4: Witch’s Brew Frappuchino

I had so much fun making this drink! The frappuchino part was the same recipe as the Butterscotch Caramel Frappuchino except I mixed some red and blue food colouring with it to turn it purple. I topped this drink off with homemade whipped cream as well, and sprinkled some green crystal sprinkles on top. This drink gave me more whimsical vibes than creepy witch vibes but it tasted yummy so that’s ok! Also the tip of the whipped cream reminds me of the nipple of a baby bottle… (I bet you can’t unsee that now LOL).

Drink #5: Oh Snap! Coffee Drink

Guys! How amazing does this drink look?! Princessreadsalot used this recipe here. This drink is essentially cold brew with some ginger beer, lime juice, and maple syrup. This sounds like such a fascinating combination, I’m really curious as to how this tastes!

So there you have it folks! Some super yummy fall drinks that you can easily recreate at home. If you try making any of these, please let me know how it went in the comments. Y’all should try making the ‘Oh Snap!’ Coffee Drink and let me know how it tastes because this girl turns into an anxious puddle whenever she drinks any source of caffeine. Thank’s again to @princessreadsalot and @sushirainbow for the super fun project. I had lots of fun trying to recreate these drinks 😊 Don’t forget to go check out their blog post out here!

Happy Fall Y’all 🎃
