Book Rating System

Here is a little blurb about what I focus on when writing my book reviews and how I end up rating each read. Usually I base my reviews on how I feel while reading the book and after I finish the book. Some other things I look at are the characters, the world-building, if I learn anything from the book, trigger and content warnings, and any other critiques that may catch my eye.

5 Star System:

  • 6🌟 - HOLY F**K YES! This is an amazing book that I love so much and recommend to everybody on the planet and was super affected by it emotionally.

  • 5🌟 - SPECTACULAR! This is a really great read that I love love love and really enjoyed reading and had no problems with whatsoever.

  • 4🌟 - GREAT! This is a book that I enjoyed but had a couple small critiques about.

  • 3🌟 - GOOD! This is a book that I liked but thought it was pretty average and probably wouldn’t reread but I would still recommend it.

  • 2🌟 - MEH… This is a book I really didn’t like and is not my thing at all.

  • 1🌟 - EW… Absolutely hated it and possible DNF. Would not recommend at all.

*Sometimes I will rate the book in 0.5 increments because I feel like it doesn’t exactly fit in a whole number category. I also rarely ever DNF a book because I’m always curious as to how the book will end.
