Drinks Made by Me
Blueberry Lemonade
This was such a super easy drink to make. I used this recipe which turned out tasting really yummy! You just need sugar, water, blueberries, lemon juice, and sparkling water. All you have to do is make a simple sugar syrup and add blueberries to the sugar mixture when it’s boiling for a few more minutes. Once the mixture has cooled down, strain the blueberries out of the mixture and mix the syrup with about 1 lemon’s worth of lemon juice and a cup of sparkling water. Mix everything together and enjoy!
*So with the Crystal Ball Frappuchino and the Frappula Frappuchino I didn’t have enough ingredients to make the actual drinks from the Starbucks Secret Menu, so I created them to look like the Starbucks drinks but not taste like them. I’ll include some suggestions on how to recreate the flavours of the drinks though, along with how I visually recreated them.*
Crystal Ball Frappuchino
This was such a fun drink to recreate! This was the Crystal Ball Frappuchino from the Starbucks Secret Menu. The milkshake itself tasted plain because I made it out of milk, ice, and a bit of vanilla extract, but don’t you think it looks gorgeous! I made the teal drizzle for the cup out of corn syrup and food colouring. It didn’t really taste too bad, but I don’t think it helped the drink’s flavour at all. Mixing the food colouring to get this colour was a lot easier than mixing the food colouring for the Frappula Frappuchino so that was nice for me 😂 After I poured the syrup drizzle and milkshake into the cup, I just topped it off with some whipped cream and sprinkles. If you want to recreate this drink, I think you could make the milkshake by steeping any peach tea and blending it with some vanilla ice cream. You could probably also use a sugar syrup dyed with food colouring for the cup drizzle instead of the corn syrup. Here is a recipe I found that you could use to make the peaches whipped cream. Now that peaches are in season, I can’t wait to try making this drink and make it taste as good as I’ve made it look today!
Frappula Frappuchino
Boy oh boy this was a freaking CHALLENGE to recreate. First of all, it took me forever to find the gummy teeth I used as the drink topper, and when I found the teeth, they didn’t have fangs! I had to use my absolute beginner-level skills to Photoshop them into fangs. I also corn syrup and food colouring to make the bloody drizzle inside the cup and to drizzle on top of the whipped cream, just like I did with the Crystal Ball Frappuchino. Making the correct shade of red for the blood took a lot of trial and error, but I’m super proud of the colour I ended up with. The milkshake was, again, just milk, ice, and a tiny bit of vanilla extract, but you could make any milkshake you choose, as long as the colour is white. Or you could have a cherry milkshake to make the drink look a bit more bloody. If I had cherries, I would have made a cherry infused sugar syrup for the cup and whipped cream drizzle. Although, I think I would still probably use some food colouring to get the blood colour right. The cherry syrup would have made the milkshake taste a lot better than it did though. Here is the link for the Starbucks Secret Menu version of this frappuchino so you can try recreating it at home. I’m totally bragging, but I think my version looks a helluva lot cooler than the Starbucks version 😂 I hope y’all appreciate my blood, sweat, and tears 😂
Avocado Smoothie
So in truth, my mom made this for me from a recipe in one of her cookbooks. It was super easy to make, just blend all the ingredients together, top it off with some crushed walnuts, and put it in a pretty glass. I can’t remember exactly what she put into the smoothie aside from almond milk, matcha, an avocado, and of course the walnuts, but I do remember it tasting quite bitter, so I ended up adding a ton of sugar to it 😅 I found a recipe for a Filipino avocado smoothie that sounds delicious and way sweeter than my mom’s version because it’s made with condensed milk. Click here for the link.
This avocado smoothie concludes our list of drinks to enjoy during this sweltering hot summer season! I can’t wait to hear what you guys think and if you try making any of the frappuchinos, I would love to see how they turn out!
